How does it work?

How long does the process take?
As it is complex process, with CIPC requiring lots of documents and information this process takes around 4-6 weeks on average to complete. If the CC/Company has a property registered the process takes +- 12 weeks to complete.

Please make sure the following documents are faxed/e-mailed to us after you have completed the online application form:
Certified copy of the ID's of ALL members/directors of the CC/PTY.
Power of attorney form at the bottom of this page must be printed out, completed, signed as indicated and fax/e-mailed to us.
Affidavit indicating the reasons for the non-filing of annual returns.
Sufficient documentary proof indicating that the company/CC was in business or that it had assets or liabilities at the time of registration , e.g proof of selling and buying of goods and services, leasing or renting property and/or an active bank account.
Proof (photocopy) of advertisement placed in your local newspaper stating your intention to re-register the CC/Company. (sample will be e-mailed to once we have received your order and payment).

Important: To finalize the process annual returns must be submitted with CIPC after the CC/Company has been restored. Only after annual returns have been submitted to CIPC the CC/Company status will change to "In Business"

A very simple definition would be to say it is a business where a group of people get together voluntary to obtain a product or service. From this one can see that the members must do business with the co-operative.

The Construction Registers Service comprises the Register of Contractors and the Register of Projects which have been established in terms of the CIDB Act (Act 38 of 2000). A letter of good standing can be obtained once the employer has complied with the requirements of the Act, inter alia :
Employers that have not yet been assessed by the Compensation Fund will first be assessed, up to the current assessment year, and are expected to pay all assessments in order to meet the criteria set out above.
As soon as we have received the application for a letter of good standing, we will request it from the Compensation Fund. If there are no outstanding returns/monies on the registration number, the letter of good standing will be e-mailed to you within 2 working days**
** VERY IMPORTANT:
If there are outstanding monies owed to the fund when we apply for the letter, we will notify the client of the outstanding amount. The client can then submit proof of payment to us. We will hand in the proof of payment with Compensation Fund. The letter of good standing will then be issued within +- 5 working days after the proof of payment has been submitted and Compensation Fund has no further queries.
If there are Return of Earnings (ROE) outstanding for one or more year(s) these ROE must be submitted, assessed by Compensation Fund and paid by the employerBEFORE a letter of good standing will be issued.
